My month in Mongolia is up. So said of tho show my passport at the Mongolian/Russian border. Found some friendly Russians there, they gave some usfull tips I could see in the Altai. This road called the Chuyskiy Trakt, is said to be the most beautiful road in whole of Russia. Ended up being in the border for 6 hours. Was a bit of an wait on the Russian side.

I drove around 4500 km in Mongolian total, that contains around 1800 on different unpaved routes. Ranging from serious 4x4 track to desert highways. That excludes all the 'paved' but potholed filled stretches around the county, they can be deep and wide. The screen shot is an astimate as Google Maps doesn't have all roads.

Also had to take 3 tires off. The last one because I heard a sound coming from a wheel. It turned out I picked up on rock that made home inside my wheel between the disc brake and the rim. Lucky I heard it, don't want to think of what would happen if I didn't hear it and drove on. My rims are aluminum you see. The other 2 where for the welder, and for an tire repair in UB. So I guess the right front wheel is next to come off.

The food in Mongolian is not to my liking unfortunately, its meat and without a lot of taste. Although I like the dumplings they make. So was very exited to find a pizza place in Olgii, so had Pizza that night. It turned out it could use some flavoring, it was tasteless. Back to the Mongolian fare then...

route, sort of

dumblings, 350 each. (12 euro cent)

on Mondays the market is closed....

mountain of biscuits at the market

an I love Olgii sign, in front of the theater.
