in the wild, driving home

All went well, and soundcheck was coming along nicely. and my phone rings, I expected a phone call as I parked rusty at a garage to get new tires fitted. quickly pick up my phone; sorry what do you saying you broke a wheel nut?and can't get it out?.

a day latter I come and pick up Rusty, and have to figure out howe to get the wheel lose. first go to a garage I have an APK (dutch MOT) appointment next week, they decline but do point me to a garage a 4 km drive away. and they to my happiness accept the challenge and are going to.'try'. so I take the public transport to go to work, and I start waiting for an good phone call.

new tires witch ne odd wheel nut...

again get a phone call during soundcheck, and are a bit tense about what they outcome will be. Soon a cheers erupts! took him an hour and probably some cursing. he tells me in the end hey needed to weld an bold to the remaining part with was flat with my rim to help get some movement. and happily agree to pick Rusty up the next morning. thank you Ozgul! however the can't find an nut to replace the now empty slot. so direct me to a Nissan Garage, but I decide to go to my old Renault garage near my parent as I was planning to visit them. they now converted to Nissan, and are helped by a friendly man and an Patrol fan. a smile appears when I drive Rusty in and are soon given an original wheel nut without any charge! thanks! now have 1 nut with uses a wrench number 19, with all the others being 17.

Full of I confidence I go and start up Rusty for the APK, but this quickly disappears when I come and find an small puddle of oil under my front axil. very near my front left wheel. never the less I keep the appointment and it turns out it isn't an issue for the APK. however an breaking difference on the back axle is. so with a failed APK I again phone my now go to garage. sure bring it by we have an look. ant without wasting time are back at Ozgul. they will have a look at the braking and the oil leak.

the breaking system is soon fixed with a new breaking line an cleaning of the others. but they inform me that they need special tools to fix the oil leak. this is becoming a bit annoying to drive Rusty from garage to garage. but phone the Garage I used to replace my freewheel hubs, as they are specialised in fixing 4X4. and tell me they can do this with there eyes closed as they have done it before. so drive rusty there, with a quick stop at the tire fitter to get the last tire fitted. and than ones again take the public transport home.

above I mention the last tire; basically it comes from down to this. I ordered 5 tires to get fitted. but after a delay off 4 days only 4 arrive. so ask the fitter to do all 4 tires under the car. the broken wheel nut makes sure I can't so he puts it on the spare rim, guessing the 5th will arrive soon. a couple of days pass, no tire. so I start calling and a researcher is started at the courier, I am told this wil take 5 days. so 5 days later I start calling again, and are told there is no result yet. other few days go by with me phoning very second day. and finally bam told a new expel will be sent. I guess the 5th fell out of the truck?

so now have;

- New apk (dutch MOT)

- Fixed braking system

- 1 new wheel nut

- 5 new tires

- a new cross key with has a 17 and a 19 size

- 2 new bal joints

- new axle seal
